I will not summarize, abbreviate, or paraphrase the textbook for you. The original authors wrote it carefully and I won't dilute it. If you want a 5-page Python primer, this isn't it. Read the actual material. I'm here for the discussion.
The textbook walks the language from statements through expressions, objects, decisions, loops, functions, modules, strings, lists, dictionaries, classes, inheritance, files, and data science. Read in order if you're new. Skip to the chapter you need if you're not — your Coach will fill in any prerequisite you missed.
Beginners who learn by doing. Programmers from other languages who want a proper Python orientation. Self-learners who want a Tutor to discuss with as they read.
People who want to read about programming without writing any code. The Coach will keep pushing you to try things in the shell. If that's not what you want, this isn't the book.
When this isn't enough — when you're stuck for hours and even the Coach's questions feel like the wrong altitude — please see a professional. Community colleges run beginner Python classes. Bootcamps offer dedicated instructors. The textbook + Coach doesn't replace human mentorship; it complements it. If learning is bringing up a mental-health crisis (frustration spirals, sleep loss, isolation), call a professional. The code can wait.
